BIO
"Sometimes music is my lover. Sometimes it is gum on the bottom of my shoe."
Stephy Leigh is an Americana female singer-songwriter based out of Prescott, Arizona. She captivates audiences with her soulful country and indie-folk songs, weaving themes of love, loss, and life in the American West. Stephy's heartwrenching lyrics and nostalgic melodies resonate with listeners, drawing them into her story as it relates to their own. Her willingness to be vulnerable both in her writing and on stage makes her refreshingly fringe in our evermore dehumanizing world. Rhythms and rhymes from her career as an elementary music teacher often find their way into Steph's songwriting, as does her classical and jazz trumpet background. That whimsical sprite spirit combined with an often intentional juxtaposition of the dark side and the light make for an umami music that is both unique and genuine, yet at times, emotionally terrifying. Some may label her style as genre-bending, but if you look closer, her genre is merely the sound of her layers when they play hide-and-seek together in the woods.
When she's not performing or writing, Stephy loves spending time training with her dog Dottie and exploring the natural beauty of her home in the Granite Dells of Prescott, Arizona.
